The Salesforce Administrator is a key team member assisting Excelsior College leveraging their expertise in Salesforce administration, design, and development to enable the college to streamline new and existing processes and improve overall business efficiency. The Salesforce Administrator in conjunction with the Senior Salesforce CRM Administrator is responsible for system wide administration, development, security and support of the organization’s CRM solution, including: developing and managing the development of new functionality; managing security models; managing data migrations and data cleansing; coordinating and leading sessions within the organization on release improvements; developing training materials and providing training to end users; providing technical support and troubleshoot application related issues. The Salesforce Administrator will also assist with the primary administration for Remedyforce.
Additionally, this position will be assisting with application integration for Salesforce, purchased business applications and the current homegrown student information system as well as develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Identify best practices in the use of the Salesforce CRM and disseminate them to end users.
•Provide high-quality end user support to users of the Salesforce CRM.
•Create and manage custom objects, fields, and formulas.
•Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, maintain validation rules and custom processes/flows.
•Perform hands-on solution design, prototyping, and proof-of-concepts, as required in support of current and new projects.
•Participate with the Integration Developers on integrations to/from Salesforce with other enterprise systems.
•Determine and document business user requirements.
•Work with internal and external staff to use the CRM in an efficient, effective manner.
•Design, develop, and implement enhancements to the CRM system as required.
•Manage access rights for staff and consultants for the CRM system.
•Perform data integrity and manipulation tasks.
•Prepare accurate time estimates for projects and manage tasks to meet deadlines.
•Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives, and college goals.
•Mentor others through project lifecycle on both technology and process
•Understand security implications of different data elements (e.g. PII, PCI, etc.)
•Bachelor’s degree in the Information Technology or Communications fields or related disciplines or Associates degree with equivalent work experience.
•2+ years of experience administering Salesforce.com and architecting solutions to business problems on the application platform preferred.
•Salesforce administration in Higher Education with the EDA data model preferred.
•Certified Salesforce Administrator (ADM 201) required. Certified Salesforce Advanced Administrator and Platform Developer preferred.Salesforce Integration Architecture Designer Certification is a big plus.
•Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and a minimum certification of ITIL Foundation strongly desired.
•Ability to design and build advanced Processes, Reports, and Dashboards etc.
•Solid knowledge of Salesforce integration capabilities, patterns, and best practices strongly preferred.
•Hands-On experience administering Remedyforce a plus.
•Experience working with 3rd party vendors.
